image-indiaIndia, No Matter How Dark the Present, a documentary film by Steve McCurdy, will be showing on Wednesday, April 29, 2009. It chronicles the story of twenty students who journey from Salt Lake City to the small village of Chamba located in the Himalayas of Northern India where they hope to make a difference in the lives of dozens of orphans eager to gain an education in a one room government school. In the process, the teens are confronted with the magic and mystery of India, its people and its cultures as they journey from the Capital of New Delhi to the remote mountain towns and villages of Chamba, Melha, Kalsuni and Ranikot, and from the holy city of Rishikesh on the Ganges to Jaipur and Agra and the famed Taj Mahal. It is a story of love, hope and making a difference. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "If you can't make it through one door, go through another door - or make a door. Something terrific will come no matter how dark the present."
