Influenced by Chinese and French cultures, the Vietnamese have maintained a strong sense of their own uniqueness.

Despite the 2005 destruction of this area by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, there are still beautiful places to visit and wonderful things to experience.  This 1700 mile adventure begins at Sanibel Island, FL and ends at Padre Island, Texas. “Sailing Down to Rio on the Queen Mary 2”

The Queen Mary 2, at 150,000 tons, is the longest, tallest, widest, biggest ocean liner of the world.  Cruise on its  first voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Rio de Janeiro for the largest party on earth, Carnaval.  This trip  duplicates a legendary 1939 journey of the S.S. Normandie,  which was packed with the rich and famous of the day. 
Highlights Include: Fort Lauderdale • St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands, the Portuguese colonial capital of Salvador de Bahai. Travel overnight to the Amazon River and Iguazu Falls. In Rio - beautiful white sand beaches at Copacabana and Ipanena ,the cable car ride to Sugar Loaf and the cog train to the Christ Statute atop Corcovado, the magic of Carnaval, throngs of people dancing in the streets, and the spectacular, world famous, samba parades.
